Overview

What it is, plainly.

Rosacea is the most-misunderstood skin condition we see. It is not acne. It is not allergy. It is a chronic vascular and inflammatory disorder of the central face — and it is highly treatable when managed correctly. Treated as acne, it gets worse.

Modern rosacea care has four pillars: identify and avoid triggers; restore the skin barrier; treat inflammation (topical or oral); remove visible vessels with laser. We work all four together — single-pillar treatment usually fails.

Dr. Anitha builds a personalised rosacea protocol. Many patients see meaningful clearance within 8 weeks and stable, low-flare skin within 6 months.

We Treat

Conditions and concerns we address.

  • Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea (redness + vessels)
  • Papulopustular rosacea (acne-like bumps)
  • Ocular rosacea (eye involvement)
  • Phymatous rosacea (skin thickening)
  • Steroid-induced rosacea
  • Reactive flushing & blushing
  • Perioral dermatitis (related condition)
  • Rosacea triggered by skincare
Your Plan

Step-by-step, no surprises.

  1. Subtype Diagnosis

Identify which subtypes are active — treatment differs significantly. Combination subtypes are common.

  2. Trigger Audit

Sun, alcohol, spicy food, hot drinks, retinoids, exercise, stress, certain skincare — we identify yours.

  3. Barrier Restoration

Gentle cleansers, ceramide-rich moisturisers, mineral-only sunscreen. Most rosacea skin has impaired barrier — fix this first.

  4. Topical / Oral Therapy

Metronidazole, azelaic acid, ivermectin, topical brimonidine. Oral doxycycline at sub-microbial doses for inflammation.

  5. Vascular Laser

Long-pulsed Nd:YAG or pulsed-dye laser for diffuse redness and visible vessels.

  6. Long-Term Management

3-monthly check-ins. Adjust as triggers change. Annual maintenance laser.

FAQ

Common questions, clear answers.

Is rosacea curable?

No — but highly controllable. Most patients achieve stable, calm skin with the right protocol. The condition stays beneath the surface; flares are managed when they arise.

Why does over-the-counter skincare make it worse?

Most active skincare (retinol, AHA, BHA, vitamin C) irritates rosacea-prone skin. We strip the routine back to barrier-friendly products before adding anything new.

Can rosacea affect the eyes?

Yes — ocular rosacea causes burning, dryness and styes. We co-manage with ophthalmology when needed.

Will laser fix it permanently?

Laser clears the visible vessels and redness — those vessels stay gone. New ones can form over time, requiring annual maintenance.
