That old tattoo? We can fade it away.
Our Q-switched ND:YAG laser shatters ink particles safely — without damaging the surrounding skin. Whether it's a full sleeve or a name you regret, we can reduce most tattoos dramatically, often to complete clearance.
Laser light, shattering pigment.
Q-switched lasers deliver ultra-short, high-power pulses that are absorbed by tattoo ink particles — breaking them into microscopic pieces your body naturally clears.
Over weeks, your lymphatic system carries away the fragmented ink. Each session fades the tattoo progressively — black and dark blue inks respond fastest; red, yellow and green inks need more sessions and specialised wavelengths.
At Skin Shine, we use medical-grade Q-switched ND:YAG (1064nm and 532nm), chosen for its safety profile on Indian and darker skin tones. Unlike older picosecond-only clinics, we combine Q-switched + careful session spacing for the best balance of fading and minimal side effects.
Dr. Anitha personally evaluates every tattoo in your consultation — age, depth, ink type, body area and your skin's response determine the final session count and realistic outcome.

Consultation & Realistic Plan
Photos, measurement, ink evaluation and a realistic session-count estimate. Smaller tattoos: 4–6 sessions. Larger / multi-colour: 8–12+.
Skin Preparation
Topical numbing cream (45 min before the session) or optional local anaesthesia for larger tattoos.
Laser Pulses
Rapid laser passes across the tattoo — each pulse feels like a rubber-band snap. Cooling air blown across the skin reduces discomfort.
Immediate Whitening
The tattoo "frosts" immediately after treatment — a normal temporary reaction that subsides in 20 minutes.
Post-Session Care
Antibiotic ointment, gentle dressing and written aftercare (no sun, no scratching, gentle cleansing). Minor swelling and scabbing is normal.
6–8 Week Intervals
Longer intervals give your body time to clear dispersed ink — and reduce pigmentation risk on brown skin.
Safe, patient, professional.
Dermatologist-Supervised
Laser settings chosen by Dr. Anitha — never a technician running generic presets.
Indian-Skin Safe Protocol
Conservative settings and longer intervals keep hypopigmentation and dark patches away.
Package Pricing
Bundled session packages for larger tattoos — significant savings over per-session pricing.
Common questions, honest answers.
Will the tattoo completely disappear?
Black and dark-blue tattoos usually reach near-complete clearance. Red, yellow and green inks fade significantly but may leave faint ghosts. Realistic expectations are set in your consultation.
How many sessions?
Most tattoos need 6–12 sessions. Ink type, age, depth, location and your skin's response all factor in.
Will I be scarred?
Modern Q-switched technology rarely causes scarring. With correct settings and proper aftercare, scarring risk is under 5%.
Is it painful?
With numbing cream, most patients tolerate it comfortably. Larger tattoos can have local anaesthesia.
